Reigning Diamond League champion Simon Ehammer will take on Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou and world champion Mattia Furlani in a clash of the titans in the men’s long jump in Laussane on August 21.
Ehammer, who is also the world indoor record holder in the men’s heptathlon, won his second Diamond League title in Zurich last September, beating both Furlani and Tentoglou in a dramatic final at Sechseläutenplatz.
He faces the two global champions on home soil once again at this year’s Athletissima, where he hopes to win valuable points in the race for this year’s series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
Tentoglou is currently the only men’s long jumper to have qualified for the Wanda Diamond League Final, amid an impressive return to form this season.
The Greek star broke meeting records in both Xiamen and Monaco, notching up his first Diamond League wins since 2024.
Furlani has also shown winning form this season, jumping a personal best of 8.46m at the season opener in Shanghai/Keqiao.
Lausanne is the 12th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
